Respite.

Ahhh, I think my Hillel emails are done for the time being (but certainly not for the rest of the day). It's amazing how much of my life is taken up by emails & various forms of correspondance these days. It's still a new feeling, & hard to keep track of, but a good feeling, that stretch of busy-ness & efficiency. Healthy, somehow.

On the deprivation scale, sleep is getting better. Sunday we slept in, a lot later than we realized considering daylight savings, & when I went back to my room to do my Hebrew work, I had only an hour & a half or so before going back to Daniel's house to help them cook for the open house dinner. That was the most fun I've had in a while, making food with Daniel & Laura & Leyland...I haven't cooked in a long while (or much at all) but I love it when I do, & being part of a larger cooking process is much more fun than cooking alone. Also, recipes are bogus, apparently...these kids just do things, & they end up tasting good, somehow. Food made, over-all: chili, mashed potatoes, salad, salsa with fresh veggies mixed in, sauteed squash, carrot cake. All vegan, all delicious. Many people came. I'm glad I asked if I could help, it was a lot nicer to feel somehow like I'd participated, rather than just showing up.

Listening to Peter, Paul & Mary from Meredith's iTunes. The weather is phenomenal. Falling asleep while Daniel read at my desk until the early hours felt natural & good. I ate breakfast this morning. There's no VWC rehearsal tonight because of the concert on Saturday. Things are damn fine right now, if I do say so myself.
