Hey there! So the fact that I even saw your comment is a total fluke. I recently made this one entry public so a friend could access it; I came back today to make it private again and saw this comment. How did you even come across this lol?? How did you know Amber?

I made this art journal in 2005; and I wrote this LJ entry in 2011. If I were to update it for 2020, it would be a much, much different letter to Amy. It's unreal where twenty years of hindsight will lead you and yes, to your point, I thank God every day that I survived. So many others weren't as lucky. I'll add you here in hopes that you're going to post more than one entry, I'd love to keep reading!

Wait, what's your name, and what was your lj user name back then? I was at that Philly folk festival to see Ani with Amy and everything you remember sounds REALLY familiar. My email address is jaclynpopola@gmail.com please feel free to write me there (like, immediately lol) if I don't see your response on here!

Amber's story is nothing short of tragic. We were not friends, but I think of her often. I was disentangling from Amy while Amber was getting wrapped up, so I kept a distance for my own safety and mental health. I have a couple private entries about it from, God... nearly 20 years ago. I'll send you the links if you're interested in reading. I know her death was a matter of a simple overdose, sadly one of many, but the whole thing has always felt shrouded in mystery to me..

I added you to my friends list! (If I still remember how to do it right lol) Check and see if you can now see a bunch of entries. If they're about drugs and sex, then I added you to the correct filters :) I just saw your email and will respond there.

I found this entry which describes how I felt about Amy in 2012; I'll email you about what it's all like in 2020. Like you said, something about aging makes you have zero tolerance for bullshit. https://becauseilive.livejournal.com/305406.html

Are you watching the election results? Ugh I'm on the edge of my seat nervous and know it's going to be a long night!
