[Finding out Will wasn't dead after all, not dead dead, had flooded David with a relief so potent it surprised him. Considering that he wasn't free of being an inmate after all, and that he could probably expect a punishment for taking Flagg's offer and stealing weapons, it took him aback. He'd been keeping a low profile since everything cooled down, since he wasn't entirely sure now who was pissed off at him and who wasn't, but when he found out Will had revived, he grabbed his stuff and went straight to the infirmary.

Well, not straight to the infirmary - he made a spot in the kitchens first, which is why when he did make it in, he was shouldering a big backpack he'd stuffed with candy and soda. He assumed Will would still be unconscious, and was really just coming to drop off what he'd picked up for him. Unshouldering the backpack as he approached the bed, David resisted the urge to give Kirjava a skritch.]

[Will had been kind of hovering on the edge of consciousness for a while after making the post, hurting a little too badly to give into the fatigue or call someone over to up his meds or something, and really just settling for dozing.

Which meant Kirjava noticed David first, opening her eyes and staring at him for a moment. That woke Will up a little more, and he forced his eyes open, staring blearily at his inmate with heavy lidded eyes. Really, he's glad he looks more or less okay. He'd honestly thought they were both going to die in that hallway.]

[David's so sure that Will is asleep that when the warden mumbles his name he jerks with the backpack in his hands, spilling candy onto the floor. For a moment he's got a spooked look, like an animal staring into headlights, and then it's just David again, swinging the backpack clumsily onto a chair.]

Yeah, it's me. [He approaches Will's bedside hesitantly, not really sure what else to say.] How're you feeling?

[The warden was a little too out of it to react much to the other teenager's startled reaction, just blinking and grimacing a little, trying to feel a little more alive and awake and sort of failing. He considered the question for a moment, couldn't come up with a good answer and managed a sort of neutral grunt. Kirjava glanced over at him before looking back at David, apparently deciding Will was going to be pretty useless for this.]
