Being a Protestant, reverance for a representation of a person, even God's spokesperson, is puzzling, so I can't get a sense of where the line on Catholic sensibilities lies?

I am Catholic, just not Roman Catholic (I'm bred Episcopalian). The diff between the Anglicans and the Romans is basically Henry the Eighth wanted what he wanted and Pope said "No!" ("We believe in one holy catholic and apostolic Church ( ... )

Actually, the faithful are charged with being God on Earth (You are God's hands, you are God's eyes, etc)
