The back yard has run riot; the husband had been keeping it "arboreal" for the wildlife he has fed for nearly 2 decades, with the lawn guy cutting the grass at will, and me very occasionally pulling weeds and whacking back vines.  It was his domain, so  as long as Minimum Lawn Guy could get his riding mower back there and had something left to cut ( Read more... )

Backdoor glazing on the outside shattered. I don't think either of us were home when it happened. It could well have been a critter, the kid next door throwing a rock or ball, someone's weed eater kicking up a rock... God only knows. There was no obvious point of impact. The glazier thought it could simply have been a flaw in the tempered glass, stressed by environmental conditions. Our neighbor's second floor bedroom window spontaneously shattered on three separate occasions (there's that number again). I had no idea this sort thing was a regular occurrence.

I am with D in delighting in anything that will thwart the orange egomaniac. Doesn't Dear Leader understand that this day isn't about him? Personally, I wouldn't tune in to the celebration, because I wouldn't want to add to his ratings. We know how important ratings are to Drumpf. However you choose to celebrate, I hope you find a way to celebrate that affirms your feeling of national unity. Yesterday it looked like things may be heading toward a constitutional crisis over that census citizenship question? Yikes.
