Bart Ehrman

Went to an all-day at the Smithsonian over the weekend, as taught by Bart Ehrman: The New Testament Forgeries. Carmichael Auditorium, because he drew a bigger audience.

Here is Professor Ehrman signing a book for my sweetie:

Very interesting, although he is trying out his new theories on us unwashed masses by putting out a layman's book and going on a lecture tour before he puts out his academic text on these, his new theories. I assume we are the kids who are supposed to point out where the emperor has no clothes, or, maybe if we like it, he can say to his collegues, nyah, the masses liked it? Not sure.

Fan boyhusband was all aglow, got to have some obscure older text signed by The Man. It was cute.

Also, while there in the Museum of American History, we took in the Abraham Lincoln exhibit (grim), Juila Child's kitchen (nice), to the sea in ships, the Greensboro lunch counter, a car exhibit and of course, Old Glory. Also, Archie Bunker's chair, Julie Newmar's catwoman suit, Fonzi's jacket, an original Kermit the Frog.
