But also fascinated.
So, last week's Dan Savage column included a question I never even considered,
"Where can I find Native American porn?".
Pause and think about that for a minute.
Are you squicked now? I was.
Anyways, dear ol' Dan went to my favorite Indian (that's how he indentifies) writer,
Sherman Alexie. His response is well worth

What squicks me out is what's implied in the concept of NatAm porn. I may be overly sensitive due to my current field of study. but I read this and immediately thought "Well, do you want some white-on-black slave porn as well?"
I suppose my reaction is colored by my experience here - in areas with a high Native population, there's a lot of sexual assault. In fact, in Alaska, over 60% of reported rape cases are Native women who've been raped, most often by their own ethnic group. I agree that the 'noble savage' concept is prevalent in trashy romance novels, but those and this porn idea are just another brick in the Objectification Wall. In one sense, it's a mark of acceptance into the overarching American culture to be included in porn, but it's still fetishization and objectification.
If the OP had asked "where can I find normal porn that stars NatAms?" I wouldn't be nearly so offended, and in fact, interested to find that as well, since porn is an area of sexuality that doesn't really include NatAms. But looking for "semi-dark skin" and "the traditional breechclout thing" makes it racist and perpetuates horrible cultural stereotypes.
"... suffering from a bad case of Native American Jungle Fever." *shudder*
