wow. it has been so long since i've posted an entry! ... even though I go on livejournal everyday.. hah. these past months have just been so crazy! I don't even know. tonight I had some free time and I felt like updating. ohh lifee. last week was especially crazy. on sunday I had chapter meeting and that was just same old same old. On Monday I finally declared a major which i'm really excited about! im no longer an exploratory student and now when people ask, i have something to talk about.. haha. its great. thenn after that I went to the Hub and met Mary and my twins for lunch/dinner and that was fun. it's really hard to get the quad all together at once. then I ate another dinner with my roommate and watched episodes of The Office, like we do everyday haha. Then Tues was crazyyy. Well, actually it was a perfectly normal day. I went to all my classes, came back had din/the office, did some homework, and then talked to lauren on the phone for a while. it was around 10 and seriously 2 minutes i hung up with lauren, I came into the room, set my phone down, and the fire alarm went off. my roommate and i were pissed along with everyone else on the floor to evacuate bc last time we had a fire drill, someone just burnt something in the stove. soo while we were all standing outside, i saw people pointing at something. i looked up and there were very visible orange flames in one of the rooms on the second floor. then all of a sudden, the fire grew and bust out the window, breaking glass everywhere. by this point, we were just all shocked. the flames were flying out the window and the black smoke was so thick. all you could see of the room was the outline of the bunkbeds in the midst of the flames. it was really erie. here's what it really looked like at one point: i'm not sure if this will work:
but yes everyone in my building then went to a dorm across the street to wait. we had to wait there for hours and watch the firefighters put out the fire and check all of the rooms to make sure everything was ok. it was all pretty intense. the girls whose room it was had nothing left.. it was terrible. the fire started in a really odd way too. supposedly, one girl knocked her lamp over unknowingly and later she smelled something smoking and was looking for the source and picked up some clothes off of the lamp with happened to be on a bean bag chair and when the oxygen hit it, it just burst into flames and got out of control. it's weird but its such a sucky way to lose everything in your home away from home.. i can't even imagine.. one of those girls lives on my floor now and i felt so bad bc 2 days after the incident was her birthday.. :/
eventually, well around midnight we were told we weren't allowed to sleep in my dorm that night so we had escorts take us back to our rooms to get essentials and then my roommate stayed in carrie's room for the night, which was nice because i hadn't seen carrie in forever!! and then the next day we were finally back in our rooms after noon. the building still kinda smells like smoke but it's really not that bad. kent state gave us free laundry for two weeks because they felt bad haha. I have noticed that i now have a phobia of fire. the next time a fire alarm goes off, it just won't be the same.. its kinda bad. i just dont know what i would do if all of my belongings burnt up. luckily with this fire, the fire proof door contained it so it didn't spread to other rooms but still.. our building doesn't even have sprinkler systems.
the day after, I ate at Pete's with my roommate and Carrie and then came back to my dorm and attended Pet Therapy, where they bring in dogs as a way for therapy and to help people feel better, especially if they miss their pets back home. i really really missed my dogs and cat, so those dogs really helped :] then after that, I went to the hub again to meet mary, andrea and jordan there and we went to panhellenic council. the next day was lame, I just went to class and participated in this disturbing study about myspace users and mydeathspace users. its was weird. haha. but later i ate dinner and watched the office and then went to the DZ house with mary and andrea. there we just hung out and watched The Sweetest Thing. Friday, i woke up, did laundry for seriously 5 hours (i had a lott) and went to the lovely Pizza Hut Bistro with my roommate and a girl down the hall. later we ended up eating it in their room and finishing season 3 of The Office! i'm almost completely ready for season 4 to resume. haha. i've even been watching the episodes online.. haha. its great. then the rest of the weekend i was super busy with studying for my history test and working on my speech with I completely finished both today :] it was rough but i made it through. and it was my last speech for the year ! yess :] ahh I can't believe summer is just around the corner... the very thought makes me extremely happyyy :]
