There is something so romantic about traveling by train. I had planned to take the bus to Northampton this weekend, but at the last minute decided on the train, which I later found out was the same train/route that used to take me to and from New York in high school when I would go visit Holly and other various friends (and I also met Holly on that train!). I spent the majority of the time staring out the window as we passed through untouched snow covered forests and big cities followed by little rural towns and bridges and walls covered in graffiti and people in their backyards who almost always stopped what they were doing to watch the train pass, fascinated, as if the train had not been by at the exact same time just the day before. The rest of the trip I slept or read or just listened to the sound of the wheels against the track and felt truly relaxed for the first time in a while. I'm feel very inspired to follow in Colin's footsteps and buy a train pass and ride around the U.S. for a month or two, or until I get sick of it (which might be never).

I was in Northampton for only 24 hours, but I was able to do everything I had hoped to which included spending time with all my favorite couples, eating a sundae at Barts, visiting Hampshire (which strangely felt not strange at all), and walking around town. I liked that it felt so comfortable to return to a place that I no longer have a physical connection to.

Molly is visiting and tomorrow I'm going to call in sick to work so that we can go on a winter adventure to Coney Island.
