I am sure this is old hat, but I thought I would do my own little update.
It wont be as awesome as
ladyfoxxx 's because she's already done one and I was right there, so I'm sure you've all read it! ;)
So...I made it up to London, safe and sound, for the gathering at the bar pre-gig night. It was awesome to see everyone,
piratesunk,
xclusiveantonym ,
never_coming_bk,
saint_sorrows,
saint_vee and
dancinbutterfly , all came to the gathering.
me and
krisipanics were staying with
ladyfoxxx so me not knowing London very well was totally not a problem.
It was awesome and after a couple of drinks we all bundled to the diner for some milkshakes and food. Plans were made, anecdotes were told, enabling was rife....
Onwards...
Gig day was the most relaxed I've ever had, we rolled out of bed and got costumes together after pancakes. The tubes were severely disrupted but a lot of
xclusiveantonym 's gig luck (seriously, go and read her past gig round ups) was already with us because we had no problems at all. We joined the queue fairly early and settled in. At one point
krisipanics and I went to check out merch, and she bought an AWESOME hoodie. I someimes struggle with My Chem merch because very often I dont like the designs, but I am so jealous of this one, I don't have a picture of it though.
xclusiveantonym and
dancinbutterfly joined us in the queue a while before doors and we got ready, people were much less hyper than in the queue at Hammersmith, but it was still very upbeat. When we made it in, we even had time to hit the bathroom (very little queue!) before heading into the arena.
I always remember Wembley as being bigger than it is, but it was still loud and cavernous. We joined the crowd at the front, Frank-side, a few rows back in our customary place. Everyone was sat down but it didn't last long.
LostAlone were first, three dudes in black with emo hair. The came out to war of the worlds, but they didn't bowl me over, I have to say. Still, they did start the crowd off and it wasn't long before The Blackout came on.
Now in our house Kerrang and Scuzz are on in the background a lot, but we flip over when something we're not keen on pops up, The Blackout get a lot of play and I hadn't given them much thought before, even putting them in the flip over pile occasionally. Boy does that all change when you see them live! They are crazy good, and the crowd were wild, I knew most of the songs they played and I seriously can't wait to see them again, they are one of the most interactive bands I've seen live. Awesome. There's something very cathartic about chanting RI-OT RI-OT RI-OT with 10,000 odd other people...However, I was not impressed with the chick in front of me who had hair halfway down her back who kept gathering it up in her hands and flicking it backwards into my mouth. Disgusting.
I'm championing The Blackout in the bandom cause, expect a primer and maybe some ficlets soon. They have a singer who fellates the mic, I dont know if they even need any other qualifying features, even though they have plenty!
The boys took a while to come on after The Blackout, the crowd reshuffled and I was worried about my staying power. Although I had
xclusiveantonym and
ladyfoxxx and
never_coming_bk behind me, and
krisipanics in front (height order, fuck yeah!) The crowd was so crushed for The Blackout I didn't know how long I could last.
However, After the initial opening for Dr D and Na Na Na, the crowd at our end settled right down. It was honestly the most comfortable gig I've ever been at, I love the air con at Wembley.
I will leave doing the song roundup because as I said,
ladyfoxxx has kinda already done that bit, but highlights for me were definately Vampires, The Only Hope (Which is fucking powerful live) Planetary (GO!), Party Poison and Vampire Money. I was hoping for Bulletproof Heart but I was more than happy with the set, not a weak song among them, and although they were all jetlagged to hell and some of them sick they still looked like they were enjoying themselves SO MUCH. I know you've all seen the photos of Ray, just look at that adorkable grin. I mean really.
I don't think Frank hit the floor once during the whole show, one indication that they're all pretty wiped out. I hope the rest of the week plays out alright for them. It was also good to see James having a blast, he was singing his heart out, it was fantastic.
In other news, I got pressganged into going to Manchester on Friday...Oh well ;)
I'll leave you with this, because it's awesome and I don't have any gig pics to share.

Cant wait for next weekend! ;)
