You know how sometimes people on your friendslist post about stuff going on in their life, and all of a sudden you think "Wait a minute? Since when were they working THERE? Since when were they dating HIM/HER? Since when???" And then you wonder how you could have missed all that seemingly pretty standard information, but somehow you feel too ashamed to ask for clarification because it seems like info you should already know? It happens to all of us sometimes.

It's Daniel, but lately I've started just going by Dan, even though I hated the nickname when I was younger. Just seems more direct, I suppose.

I am twenty-two going on twenty-three I know that I'm naive, apparently well on the way to ruining my future if my dad's got anything to say about it. Hilariously, he's probably more correct than he knows.
3. location
Kansas City-- home of jazz, barbeque and greasy Mexican food, God bless it.
4. occupation
As far as things I enjoy doing, I'm an amateur (i.e. untrained but knowledgable) film/game reviewer. As far as things which I actually get paid for though, I'm a salesman at Stride Rite. It's not so bad, fitting shoes and bringing out other sizes, and for the most part the kids are pretty well behaved... sometimes even excited. It's the parents that suck, especially the ones who complain about a lack of trendy kids shoes (?!) or why we don't make wooden-soled walkers anymore.

None. I think I'd like to have kids in the future, though I'd be scared to death that they'd end up like me.
7. brothers/sisters
I have one younger sister E-- she's pretty much my opposite in a lot of ways, being both popular, athletic, and driven. We get along pretty well though, playing video games and sometimes doing stuff together.
We had three stepsiblings, but after the divorce, fuck them-- especially since none of them made any effort to contact us. Not that we were that close anymore as it was.
8. pets
First was a golden retriever named Shaun-- an older dog we adopted when I was little. Unfortunately, due to him being both very laid back and totally inactive, I nearly got myself killed in an incident I'd rather not go into, and thus began my pretty much universal loathing of dogs. After our dad's second marriage, they ended up getting a cat (named Eevee LOL YES ENJOY THAT) and two other dogs, another GR named Buddy and a lapdog they named Petey. Naturally, I wanted nothing to do with any of the pets, which ended up paying off in abou 6 months when open adoration quickly turned to resentment and hostility *yay vindication* :)

1. Just paid off a big credit bill I racked up. Yayz.
2. Work. Black Friday's coming, and I've never actually been to one. *is horrified*
3. Gamespot rejected me for a part-time position in favor of some asshole who didn't show up to work one day and disappeared for nearly a week. Fuck you Gamespot. Especially for that beta key that was already expired THX VRY MUCH XP
4. Games, as always, in particular the concentrated brilliance that is Assassin's Creed 2. Beatifully designed, a satisfying combat engine, jumping around on the rooftops of Rennaissance-era Italy, a conspiracy theory so batshit crazy you can't help but get into it, and the most genuinely likeable video game family since the Dojimas. Oh, and Leonardo da Vinci's your gadget man. SUCK ON THAT, JAMES BOND.
