Man, I'm worn out. Yesterday I spent practically the entire day watching my cousin's kids (the twin girls and one that's about 4), and while it wasn't TOO hard they still ran me ragged, especially since I was watching them basically on my own XD The oldest is very silly and affectionate, but even she started giving me trouble when bedtime came around. On the plus side, she was SO adorable because she's apparently just become aware of "Sleeping Beauty," and we watched it all together while she was freaking out and explaining the finer points of the plot to me in the way only a child can ♥♥ Don't worry
kiyuu , there's still innocent kids in the world XD
Seeing it after so long, though, reminded me how much I loved that movie as a kid. Personally, I think it's the most visually striking and interesting of all the early Disney movies, with some stylized designs, richly painted storybook backgrounds, excellent music and wonderful use of color. Granted, there are some things that I don't like about it given my current mindset (though at least Phillip is one of the few Disney princes to actually have a personality) and there are a few logical inconsistencies-- why is it that the Good Fairies can't turn Maleficent, as Meriweather suggested, into a helpless frog because 'their magic can only do good things,' but giving Phillip weapons to kill someone is a-okay?-- but even so sometimes a classic, straight-up fairytale story is good to watch. Over the last few years 'fractured fairytales' have become the new bullet time, and the only movies to make something genuinely enjoyable out of this fad were the original "Shrek" and "Enchanted" because, ironically, they carried themselves with a fair mix of self-depreciation and heartfelt sincerity rather than a contrived LOL OLD STORIES R OUTDATED swagger.
Also, Maleficent is... um... weirdly hot. My attraction to all these crazy, manipulative dominatrices cannot be a good indicator of any future relationships I may encounter XD
Anyway, uh...
have some more Chie/Yukiko fic. So my sis and I got to a certain point in RE5 wherein you fight Jill Valentine who's being controlled by series asshole Wesker through this weird red-thing on her chest.
The boss fight involves either Chris or Sheva holding her in an armlock while the other sexually harrasses her er... tries to rip the thing off. Or Sheva pinning her to the floor and copping a feel doing the same. Needless to say the evening quickly dengenerated into crude threesome jokes and giggling. And great, now I really want some Chris/Sheva/Jill smut.
And yeah, made it up to the camping trip in Persona 4 OH GOD THE LULZ. and oh sweet Jesus the Chie/Yukiko grocery store trip!fail just made me ship it harder if that's possible :3 LOL I think I may be developing a mancrush on Kanji ♥ Also, swimsuit!Chie. That is all. ♥♥♥
Oh, picked up this comic series called "Fables" because it looked interesting (thank you, afterwatchmen.com!), and after only a couple chapters I think I'm hooked. Basically, it's like if the characters of old nursery rhymes and storybooks existed but got exiled from their world and made a makeshift underground society in modern day New York City. It's some clever, entertaining stuff, and the art is really slick and it's nicely written to boot. Highlights include Snow White as a no-nonsense beaurecrat, Cinderella reimagined as a fencing, foulmouthed spitfire, and the ubiquitous Prince Charming as a womanizing, money-grubbing bastard.
And I'm saving my money to try going to Planet Comicon, mainly 'cause I went years ago and have wanted to revisit it. Keeping an eye out for Claymore goodies, as unlikely as that'll be.
