Thank you all for your honest and unbiased opinions on my washer/dryer woes.
Thanks to most of you, I've lost a fucking argument and will now be dropping about a grand on a new washer and dryer. I don't mind spending the money, but I LOST AN ARGUMENT. Thank goodness my husband is out of town until tomorrow (WITH THE BOY! I AM BLESSEDLY ALONE WITH THE MUTTS!) and I don't have to listen to him gloat. I told him that I did the poll, and that he was probably right, and dammit! He enjoyed himself immensely, because he so rarely is right. Bwahahahaha.
Now I have to get reviews on the Whirlpool set that I've tentatively decided on. I price checked three stores (not Best Buy) today, and the local Lowe's will price match (although they're going to PRICE BEAT, they just don't know it yet) and give a rebate on the delivery charge. Oh, and they do next day delivery, which will be convenient since hubby is off all week and can be home to supervise.
I paid off the new stove last month (12 months, no interest so we didn't have to touch the savings account). Who wants to start the pool on when we'll have to buy a fridge or dishwasher? Then we'll have the appliance trifecta.
