Bones and House Finales

What the hell people? First the Office finale and now THIS! I went from tearing up over Zach (which BTW, I think THAT whole plot was a load of bullshit) to straight out crying over Amber.
Did all the writers get together and say "we've decided to leave all of our fans with an unsettling weight on their chests for the summer, kthxbye"?
