summary: the first meeting we never saw. juliet leads kate to the locker room seen in 3x01.
Juliet leads Kate down a rusting corridor, her hands bound by string.
“You don’t know me,” Kate bites out. The blonde makes her chafe more than the burlap bag that was over her head just a few minutes ago. It was in her knowing smirk as she pretended to puzzle over Kate’s morals.
“How can you judge us so harshly? It isn’t like you’ve never killed a man.”
It cuts because it’s the unarguable truth, which muffles the growl building in her chest. But the woman acts as if she can read her like a barcode, bars spelling a black and white label in permanent ink. As if she herself is the neon reader.
“Katherine Austen. Age 26. You killed your stepfather because he was abusive and you escaped because you could. You were married once to a police officer named Kevin. You were involved in the accidental death of your childhood sweetheart. Your mother has uterine cancer. Your father is in Iraq. You’re good at running away.”
And her lips smack lightly together like that’s the end, like that’s all she is. Case closed. She should have known they had a file on her.
“Yes.” They’ve reached their destination, apparently, because Juliet pauses outside of an open locker room and leads her just inside. Her hands are unbound quickly but she doesn’t bother trying to escape. Not quite yet. “But you still don’t know me.”
There’s the brief glimpse of an approving smile before the metal door clangs shut.
