Title: Antarctica is for Lovers
Character(s)/Pairing(s): Edward/Bella
Rating: G
Words Count: 100
Summary: Edward takes Bella somewhere unexpected for their honeymoon.
Bella assumed it was a joke when she saw the plane tickets; a misprint or the work of Photoshop. But the snow crunching under her boots now was not the sound of humor.
“You know I was kidding about the penguins.”
The rural path opens to a cabin nestled into the slope of a mountain, smoke already puffing into the frigid air. Cozy. Maybe this would be tolerable for their honeymoon.
“Nonsense,” Edward muttered, turning to her with a soft pink flower that she hadn’t seen him pick, “Would there be flowers in Antarctica?”
Canada was looking better every second.
Title: Forget-Me-Not
Character(s)/Pairing(s): Alice (Alice/Jasper)
Rating: G
Words Count: 100
Summary: Alice first wakes from her change.
Alice’s memory stretches out like a blank canvas behind her and before her, the complete anonymity of starting over stirring fear in her throat. Little things return to her - words, concepts, customs - as her mind beckons them to supply her thoughts. The grass crinkles under her, a bird warbles like water; her eyes open to satin clusters of wild irony.
Forget-me-nots, a field of them.
Before she can check her surroundings, the vision smacks her back down.
Diner. Rain. Dripping blonde hair. Red eyes.
”You’ve kept me waiting a long time.”
Her lips curl into a smile against the petals.
Title: Pollen
Character(s)/Pairing(s): Bella, Emmett
Rating: PG13
Words Count: 100
Summary: Emmett unexpectedly helps Bella with wedding preparations.
“So why couldn’t Alice come?”
Bella studied a bleeding heart blossom. Too tragic.
“Something about yellow paint… I didn’t ask. Do you mind?”
His lips spread with a wicked smile. Never a good sign.
“Of course not, little sis! It’s a good time for some tips on how to seduce Edward. Rose does this thing-“
Bella shoved a peony in his face and glared. She almost had to bite her tongue around giggles when he lowered it; the pollen had completely coated his nose yellow. That’s why Alice wanted Emmett to go.
“What’s so funny?”
“Nothing Emmett. Nothing at all.”
Title: Marigold
Character(s)/Pairing(s): Bella/Jacob
Rating: PG
Words Count: 100
Summary: The sun sets.
Author’s Note: According to iFlowers.com, a marigold means sacred affection, cruelty, grief, and jealousy.
You hide in the shadows. Sunglasses, a dark hood, black gloves that reach your elbows. The sun taunts you, pokes its sharp spines of light as you watch them lower the casket into the ground. You wish you could have been the person to tell them to wait, to postpone until an overcast day so you could mourn like a human.
But the pack doesn’t think you’re Bella anymore. You shrink from their glares like you do the sun, so you wait until they’re gone to leave a single marigold on the gravestone that reads Jacob Black.
The sun sets.
Title: O Meu Belo Lírio
Character(s)/Pairing(s): Edward (Edward/Bella)
Rating: PG
Words Count: 100
Summary: Okay so my Portuguese is a little rusty. The title supposedly means "my beautiful lily" but who knows. Takes place during New Moon.
The vivaciousness of the surrounding vibrant colors didn’t permeate through his marble skin.
“Dammnit!” Edward roared, the petals of a lily crushed in his palm. Uncurling his fingers, the pulp peeled off his skin, falling with a mournful thump to the jungle floor.
This was why he’d left Bella; one slip… he glanced down at the former flower and toed the lump with his shoe. But he wasn’t any good at tracking. Orange angered him, reminding him of the flick of Victoria’s hair as she got away.
But he kept running, hoping to catch her scent. He couldn’t fail Bella.
Title: Sunflower
Character(s)/Pairing(s): Bella/Rosalie
Rating: PG13
Words Count: 100
Author’s Note: Rosalie offers an uncharacteristically helping hand.
“You can’t very well go in that.”
My eyes lifted towards Rosalie’s, taken aback. I was sitting half-dressed in a heap of clothes for the engagement party, skirt unzipped and chest bare. I had expected Alice to check on me, Esme perhaps. Not her. I felt self-conscious, turning my eyes to the floor and crossing my arms.
“Bella.”
I was like a sunflower, only natural for me to turn my face into light; I looked over at her on instinct.
“I can help.” It seemed uncharacteristically kind, but I always knew she had a second skin. “Let me.”
I nodded.
