Today was a wonderful day. While the weather wasn't warm and sunny, the company more than made up for it! It was a full day, with lots of fun packed in it.
We started the day off by me going to the home of
giana and
pyro_angel. After waking the girls up and their showers, we set off to get breakfast.
takaiji met us at the
Flying Biscuit on 10th at Piedmont for a delicious meal.
After breakfast, we set off for
Fernbank Museum of Natural History. We had a great time exploring the entire place, from the dinosaurs to In the Dark exhibit to the Walk Through Time in Georgia exhibit and the Sensing Nature (exhibits from SciTrek) section. Great fun with education for all!
Fong called and we went to lunch at
Doc Green's on Ponce. Very good healthy late lunch.
After lunch, we drove over to a park off Ponce where the girls had fun on the futuristic playground. It is a very cool little playground. After playtime, we packed back in the truck and drove by the girl's place to grab a jacket for the main event. The carnival across the expressway from Turner Field.
Once at the carnival,
giana and
takaiji wanted to ride all of the rides.
pyro_angel was more content to eat carnival food and play an occasional game. After 2 hours at the carnival, the girls were spent.
We headed back towards Highland to relax and have some coffee/tea/chai at
Inman Perk. We sat around, laughed and the girls sang till it was time for
pyro_angel to meet up with a friend from out of state. They took off to have a few beers and catch up while
giana and
takaiji and I tried to decide on dinner. We chose
Manuel's Tavern, the same place that
pyro_angel went for drinks.
After a little light conversation, dinner and a pitcher of beer, I took the girls home and took off for da house. I have over 700 photos from the day to go through but here is a couple shots one to keep everyone content till I post the rest on Flickr.
