"It's just your doubt that binds you"

I was sitting outside of the Texas History Museum today, waiting for my group from work, and I was surrounded by a bunch of middle schoolers when I heard one girl say "that's one of the mom's".

Yeah she was talking about me.

I had to laugh, I don't know if they saw me laugh but I couldn't help it. I have to admit that I was a little offended, even though I know they didn't mean it to be that way. I got so used to people thinking that I was with the middle schoolers or people telling me I look like a teenager. It was a little sad.

So the Coldplay concert came and went. It was great and they're wonderful but I wasn't necessarily blown away by it. And I hate to say that because they really did put on an awesome show but it felt way too short to me, considering what we paid for the tickets. Or maybe I'm just cheap and I hate spending that much money on a concert. So much time had passed from when we first bought the tickets, maybe all that anticipation built up to very high expectations. Who knows...at least they played my favorite songs of theirs, I should just be glad I was able to go and that it was a nice way to end a month that has been so very much less than pleasant.

Tonight my professor said (as I was staring off and at the walls, sort of half listening to today's lesson) that if we didn't like administrative stuff, we were in the wrong social work concentration. It's not that I don't like it...but when they've talked about it incessantly for the past however many months I've been in the program, well it really doesn't stir any excitment in me anymore. Either way, it's too late now for that debate.
