100 things #5: A set of hot rollers/curlers

May 08, 2012 21:38

So you may be asking yourself "what the hell is this girl talking about"?

Hot rollers/curlers are these little cylinders (maybe you are familiar with the velcro cousins of these bad boys) that are on poles and warm up usually in a container.

Once they are fully warmed up, a little light switches on indicating that they are ready for use. They work the same way as regular velcro rollers except that they are heated up.

So...whats the point? Unlike conventional curling irons that can take SO LONG to do your entire head, you simply wrap every roller in your hair, pin them up (usually clips come in the package that you buy the rollers) and you can go about your day as normal ! Thats right, no more tired hands from that frickin' curling iron!

The ones that I own are the Remington Ionic Protective hot rollers that comes in 3 sizes (white for big, pink for medium, and black for small) and have a total count of 20.

If you want your hair to have more defined curls, leave them in for longer (takes me about 3 hours to get this but I do have abnormally thick/long hair) or if you want softer old hollywood style waves, leave them in for less.

If you opt for straight hair, i'd pop the larger roller underneath my crown to give me more volume and body throughout my hair.

So why did this get a spot in my 100 challenge? Because of their VERSATILITY!
If you want, waves, curls, or even straight hair, this is for you!!

Happy shopping!

*WARNING: this is a heated appliance and should be used with caution because they do get quite hot**
