What Danny Deserves Fanmix
This is a fanmix for my domestically-abused Danny ‘verse. The basic story line is that Lindsay is abusing him and Mac wants to save him from her. Danny is torn between Lindsay’s abuse and Mac’s affection. Who will he believe?
Lindsay Messer’s POV:

I chose these songs for their warped views of love. They all have female singers. I’ve chosen songs which, to me, seem bitter and controlling. Like my fanfic, I couldn’t choose songs as subtle as I liked but I still think they pass first glance as fairly benign. Like Lindsay’s quotes and behaviour in the show, such as “do you realise how difficult you are to love?” On second glance though, the stuff she says and does puts Danny down and gives her power.
Danny Messer’s POV:

I tried to make this mix a little edgier and raw, like Danny’s state of mind. I took huge liberties with some of the songs, especially the first one. I just had to use Ceesau, even though Carmine said somewhere that the song was about someone worrying, before realising things are fine. In this everything isn’t fine but Danny still accepts it. There are moments when he hates Lindsay but he takes out that hate on himself. This is a pretty dark and self-destructive mix, but the fic is pretty dark and self-destructive. Thank goodness for Mac’s interference.
Mac Taylor’s POV:

For Mac’s POV a chose a more easy listening style. This was possibly my hardest mix to do since there are very few songs about men wanting to protect other men. But Mac wants to save Danny, save him from himself and from Lindsay. Danny is broken and Mac wants to fix him. Simple as. That’s what I was trying to convey.
I kind of screwed up the artwork for Mac. I put Semisonics instead of Semisonic. Oops. Please forgive me. I hope you like the mix and if you want a section uploaded separately, just ask me. Let me know what you think.
