Semester starts next week for me and it seems like I've not had a holiday at all, as though these 3 months were spent answering phones and working for the Philosophers: designing their website and printing up readers for their courses, which I myself didn't even have time to attend. What's worse, I feel like I've let you guys down - the promise I made a few weeks ago to be a better mod wasn't kept by a long shot. And it looks like I won't even get a chance to redeem myself - I'm going to be working 3 jobs this semester, studying Kant (!) and at the same time organising an exchange to Berlin. I feel like things aren't getting done around here because people wait for me to do them and I just ... can't.
So you can see why I might feel I need to take a break from modly duties for a little while (fret not, I wouldn't even think of leaving the community - I'm too vain for anything of that sort). Forgive me for not writing a note like this sooner. Time constraints and a bad conscience kept me from my keyboard. I will stay on as a co-mod, but I'm no longer cut out to be head Maintainer-person.
So........um.........the question now is: who wants to be head-Mod? Pooka is obviously prime candidate but if he's too busy, I'm taking expressions of interest from the rest of you. The job pretty much involves:
* Monthly vote off/MOM stuff (initial posts, tallies, posting results)
* Booting the inactives (I think Julia's, rambleonanon's and sidewalkvocals' tickets out of here were booked for January, so that'd be the first thing to get onto) Done. I've had my eye on retrovertigo_x as well. I think she'll soon be ripe for the picking (a pity).
* Stamping applications
* Approving memberships and posts
....anything else?
I can maintain the website unless our new Mod wants to take that over as well and I'll keep the members' page updated. Right so....
Oh and after quite some drama, fretting and slightly scary moments my chin has healed - though I do have a nice, tough-man scar now. You'll all get to see it once I get a night alone to pout at my camera again - something else I've not done in a good while.
