Earthday Birthday Concert

May 08, 2005 22:38

So I went to the Earthday Birthday concert in Orlando on Saturday.

The main stage included:

Velvet Revolver
3 Doors Down
Breaking Benjamin
Alter Bridge
No Address
Dark New Day
Skindred
Love Juice

The native stage (local bands) included:

Atomic Tangerine
Leave Calmer
Megaphone
Black Star Morning
5 Billion Dead
Big 10-4
Head Heavy
Exit The Ride

Dark New Day ... sucked ... live. Seriously, I wasn't a big fan of their fucking music anyway, but then you think to yourself, "Even if the song sucks, it's the energy that makes it great." Everyone knows the a song doesn't have to be the best, but if the band has motherfucking energy and a kick ass vibe, it'll be a kick ass show regardless of the shitty song(s). I learned that lesson real quick when I lived in NYC and would play shows. So yeah, I wasn't a big fan of their music but I was really hoping for a kick ass show from them. And I just walked away because I could fucking do that.

Skindred ... fucking great as always.

Alter Bridge ... what the fuck ever.

To make my synopsis short, I spent more time at the Native Stage. The local bands were better then the main stage bands.

And that's pretty horrible but there was free beer so I was happy.

So in closing, if you're paddling upstream in a canoe and a wheel falls off, how many pancakes fit in a doghouse? None ... ice cream doesn't have bones.
