can anyone give me some tips on doing really nice nails? im fine with getting the color consistent, but i wonder how people can get around the cuticle looking perfect, like those really nice looking swatches.

Does anyone here get nail art done? 'Cause I've been wondering something. Do they always do the designs on acrylics or could I have something like this done to my natural nails? so, this is a retarded problem, but here it is: i seriously suck at putting on nail polish. it always turns out awful. like, it'll be uneven (ie touching the cuticle in some spots and not in others), or it'll turn out rough in some spots instead of shiny and smooth. i can usually do my toes sort of okay, but fingernails, forget it ( Read more... )

argh! every time i paint my nails they chip the NEXT DAY. the only polish i have or use is opi, so i'm apparently using a good quality polish. i don't want to change brands anyway because i love their colors, so i was wondering if there were any miracle top and or bottom coats to prevent immediate chipping like this??

the last two weeks, my polish has been bubbling - separating from the nail but not chipping.  Is there something I or my manicurist can be doing to prevent this?

Also, their OPI selection is not the best, and I'm only familiar their colors.  Does Essie make a shimmery, opaque pale pink?  All of their colors look really flat in the bottle.
