I am feeling pain of the monthly variety. You know, the one Aunt Flo inflicts on you? Yeah, that. I'm just about ready to chuck things at people who have the gall to breathe the same air I breathe right now. So tell me, lovely people of the internets, what do you do that help ease your monthly BLINDING PAIN FROM HADES aka menstrual cramps? Any ( Read more... )

Ibuprofen. Only thing that helps me. I take one dose the day before, and then as needed during. Normally by the end of day two the cramps have tapered off if I do that. (I get migraines, too, from the hormone level changes, so keeping the cramps at bay is a big thing for me so I don't end up in complete and total agony ( ... )

Jesus I cannot stand kids, tbh so I'm in the same level as you are on the switching off of the fertility cycle sjkslasj I tried pills ages ago. Helped a ton with the dysmenorrhoea, although it gave me bruise-like brown spots so I stopped. Thank you so much for the tips though. I hope I won't need these next month (fat chance). ♥

Ah me too, I do all the same things and can't take birth control pills either, ugh. I'd give up something serious for that magic off switch! Anyway the only difference is that I use Aleve instead of ibuprofen, because it is an anti-inflammatory (good for help suppressing breakouts) and works better for me.

Also, this may or may not help you OP but it's something to think about, I discovered that my cramps got better, the better physical shape I was in. I used to be couch-bound with a heating pad for two days, but in the years since I regularly run and do core-strengthening exercises, like 5 times a week (that might be excessive for some people), I'm not stricken any longer during that time. It really helped in a significant way, not just a little, which is why I'm bothering to mention it. Hope you feel better!

fill a tube sock with uncooked rice or beans and sew or tie it shut. microwave for 30 seconds, then use it as a hot pad for your utes. best done while lying in the "child's pose" from yoga. it works wonders.

actually i won't be surprised at all if i wake up in child's pose, because that's the only way i can fall asleep while i'm on the rag.

does the child pose involve pretending to be a fetus and curling up into a ball? If so, I see no other way a woman would wake up in during the hell days :'(

ty for the hot pad advice. I'll keep that in mind so I won't feel like my skin is burning from the improvised hot pad that is actually a bottle filled with hot water wrapped in a towel. ♥

to get into child's pose, kneel on the ground with the tops of your feet touching the floor and allow your butt to rest on the backs of your heels. then lie down with your arms out in front of you. you can google image search for an idea of what to do.
