A gift for myself for being so awesome
So, after 6 years at my current job, I've recently accepted a position in another department for a MUCH higher salary.
I'm really proud of myself because I work so hard and get paid so little, and these people recognized that and encouraged me to apply. They are also very willing to train me. It's also an excellent career move and will provide me with a skillset that I can build upon, and I can go far with it.
Because of this (and the higher salary!) I really want to treat myself to something big. But, I'm having trouble figuring out what I want! I do know it will be something "material", likely something I can wear. A really nice handbag, piece of jewelry, watch...etc. Note that I'm not looking to buy a ton of little things (like going wild at Sephora!). I literally want a big-ticket item, something I wouldn't have bought before. :) I often admire a lot of things but have to end up saying "I can't afford that".
Have any of you done something similar? Treated yourself to a single big purchase because of your accomplishments? I'd love to hear some ideas!
