self-tan

i've checked the tags but i haven't really found an answer to my question
im looking for a good self-tanner that's reasonably priced (not too expensive but not dirt-cheap either, if you get what i mean?)
i also need it to give me a nice tan, but not too dark. i'm naturally quite pale so i think it'd look a bit odd if i went really brown haha.
i read in the tags someone mention l'oreal sublime bronze - have any of you tried this? what did you think?
if not what would you recommend?

btw i dont really get on with gradual self tanners like dove cos i always seem to be rushing around in the morning after my shower haha
