I'm going to Sapporo (Japan) for ten days next month and the highs will be around 60-65 every day. I'm a big baby about the cold and if it's under 75 I want a jacket X3 Since I'm essentially a goodwill ambassador and this is an academic exchange program, I'm going to need to be dressed business-like most of the time... And because it's Japan, I'm going to need to be dressed well all the time because last time I was there I did not see a single young woman who didn't look fabulous.
Most of my dressy clothes are black, white, grey, or a mix of those. I have a couple of pretty skirts and white button up blouses, a pair of grey slacks, plus a black lace top. That's about it. I have the nice skirts but not many nice tops to go with them, and wearing button up shirts with them would look silly and stuffy. I'm also short so most cute tops I find are way too long and cover up most of the skirt, which looks weird. Ideas?
I'm also interested in pretty feminine touches I can add to my outfits. Any ideas for accessories/makeup/anything? I got a haircut yesterday, but
I'm only wearing concealer/foundation, white eyeliner on the wetline, and gloss in that photo, nothing else. This is not me looking my best, for the record ;P This is Very Tired Reiji.
The hair is essentially the same, just less messy looking (
here's crappy webcam photo to illustrate). I have lots of different shades of brown and green eyeshadow with a few purple, white, and pink. I don't like dark eyeliner because I CANNOT get it off, even after showering. Any tips? Photos of looks would be great, too! I usually do my eyelashes, by the way, so I have that covered :3
Also, I want a cute spring jacket! Long sleeves please, this cropped jacket business won't do me any good. I keep seeing women in these adorable fitted trench coats, but I have two problems here-- I can't afford a very expensive one and I'm teeny tiny so most coats I've tried so far are way too big for me. My measurements are probably about B32W25H30, plus I'm short :( Can anyone suggest a coat that comes in super small petite sizes? One that's lined, too, otherwise it won't be warm!
I kinda like
this one but I don't know if it's lined or if it will look good. ALSO, what color should I get? I always see khaki and black, and while black would look good over my nice outfits (which are mostly greyscale) khaki would look better over my casual ones (which are more colorful).
Other ways of keeping warm while looking nice are also appreciated! I have two very light cashmere sweaters, plus tights.
And lastly, the flight is seventeen hours. I'm going to go to the airport wearing only a little makeup and wash my face on the plane and re-do it before landing, I'm going to have wet wipes, what else can I do? I felt like CRAP getting off the place last time I went, but that time we just went to the hotel. This time we're going to be going immediately to a welcoming reception with probably only enough time to drop off our things and maybe change clothes. Ideas on staying fresh? Last time my bangs felt SO greasy, anything I can do about that? I'm really wary of dry shampoo, I'm hoping for a hair-cleaning wipe (I've seen them before but I don't remember where!) or some other quick fix idea-- I've heard putting baby powder on your hands and then running your hands through your hair works, but I don't want dusty hair. This is gonna be the first impression and I want to make sure it's a good one!
+Edit: WOW this is long. Sorry :X
