I've flown international so many times that I consider myself a pro-packer. Moisturizer and face wash are fine. Infact, they even give you things such as mini toothpaste so there's no problem with those. They look out for sharp objects, so if you need tweezers I would put them in your suitcase that is checked in and not carried on. Otherwise, they'll take them.
Water only helps if you drink lots of it BEFORE you board. Drink plenty before and try to get some rest while on flight. My flights are usually 13+ hours, so I tend to rest as much as possible then freshen up towards the last hour. Don't wait last minute because other people will also want to freshen up. There's often a line for the restrooms towards the end of the flight. Some jetlag may be inevitable and can hit at different times.
I just flew over the thanksgiving holiday and now you can bring liquids on the plane but they must fit in a small ziploc bag. The size that you usually put sandwhichs in. I would suggest trying to find travel versions of the moisturizer and face wash you use.
the way it works..lynbugNovember 26 2006, 04:13:54 UTC
go get some travel sized empty bottles, throw your stuff in that. You can carry liquids on the plane as long as they're less than 3oz in volume. Before you go through security, (or at least this is the setup in Toronto and Halifax) there will be a table with ziploc style baggies, you have to put your liquids that you intend to carrry on in the ziploc baggie and it will be scanned through the xray machine separately.
as long as you check your bag with all the liquids and deodorants etc then you dont have to worry about it. If your bringing your bag on then there is a certain size (not sure of it) you can bring with you.

I've flown to and from Australia (18h was the longest leg) and nothing froze... it was quite cold, but not frozen.
