Foundation & Freckles

For those of you who have freckles - does your foundation cover them?  I've always just used a tinted moisturizer or a translucent powder, but want to try some foundation to help with some acne scarring... concealer seems to just highlight it.

I'm not sure what shade to get or what it should cover.  I have dry / combination skin, very pale, if that makes any difference.
