Hello!
Just found this comm the other day and thought it looked promising! I would love some hints for Anglo-Indians (and novices in general). I come from a pretty conservative background so what little I know about makeup I've picked up myself. (And I know very little. I don't even know what a base coat on nails is or how to apply foundation).

Questions! )
If you have a polish color that you find too dark you can always apply a glitter or iridescent coat on top to soften the color.
I read in several magazines that unless one is using a classic color like red or the deep wine that is almost black [like Vamp by Chanel] that fingernails and toenails should not match. Toes should be painted darker than fingernails. For example, fingernails might be rose pink and toes might be deep plum. Colors like blue or green always look better on toes. Pale pistachio green, icy mint green, rich deep blue, and violet grey are all pretty popular right now.
I'm guessing that maybe if you found a volumizing shampoo and conditioner that worked for you maybe you might change your mind about your hair color. Dark hair requires stripping or bleaching to change colors. Because I had so many bad experiences in salons I made a decision to learn all I could and do my hair myself. I had thought maybe it would be different since it's been ages that I set foot in a salon. I was wrong. There are store-bought dyes made especially for dark hair but honestly, hair dyeing is a vicious cycle. I've been coloring my hair since I was 14. I'm 42 now and have to color it often because all my grey is in the front.
Gold, bronze, plum, berry, and forest green are colors that would look great on you. A mascara such as blue-black would be really good too.
