Almost Post-Uni life has been fairly anti-climatic. Didn't get the Hutchie job (got my rejection letter on Saturday, Dad's friend thinks it because I'm over qualified), but I'm not too torn up about it as my chances were slim. Maybe once I'm actually a graduate (2nd of July!) things will get better.

Will hopefully be undertaking a week-or-so shadowing job at Reid Kerr College library when I eventually hear back from the guy, and after that I'll either volunteer at Johnstone or Paisley libraries or flounder uselessly and try to figure out what to do with my life. :(

My elderly neighbour took a bit ill. His dog got out and gave him a real panic, and something's wrong with his chest I think, so I've been taking his dog out in the morning. Great fun, the dog's a lovely wee thing but just too energetic and strong for my neighbour. I don't know why he didn't get an older dog from the SSPCA. :/

ON THE BRIGHT SIDE:

1) Lynne and I got tickets for Take That on the 19th. The seats are a wee bit rubbish (we got them a fornight before the show, so what do you expect?), but it still VERY EXCITING and a bit wrong that I still can't quite get over my embarrassment of liking them a bit more than I feel I should. Woo!

2) I'm volunteering to help out at the Centenary celebration day up at uni, where Geographers from all corners of the world and all points in time (well, maybe not ALL points in time, but since the 1950s, anyway), AND AND AND I might meet Iain Stewart! I CANNOT CONTAIN MY EXCITEMENT FOR THIS.

I mean this man, leader of Geography and Earth Science geeks everywhere. He's doing a lecture as part of the day and I am far, far to excited at the prospect of pouring him some coffee (if you know what I mean).
Also, Hayden says we might get smiley t-shirts, although I don't know if that was just a dig at my normal attire. EXCITEMENT!

So, with that and Take That and all the other great things I know are going to happen, even if I have no other prospects and my future is kind of in turmoil this summe is going to be AWESOME. :)

geekiness, the future :o, music, uni: general, rejection, squee
