It is so much different than the fall

We’re throwing it around again
So careless, like it will always be there
To touch and bind together
When we need it most and when the sun goes low
Enough to be scared
Tremble about what we never knew
Or were maybe too fearful of in the first place

This merry-go-round isn’t stopping
And the spinning has me spinning in a thousand different ways
And I will count each day
That my heart rises
And I will fall each day
That you fall short of compromises

I just want to know
How long I have to wait
When will you be there or is it fate
That we will never be anything but a dying aftermath of destruction
In this so-called production of corruption
From bottled kisses and words slurred together
If only I had saved it all for later

Maybe I should stop this ride
I’m sick of trying for “one last time”
Because it never works out
And I’m too proud to sing with my head down
I’m too down to sing to you
