This is open Q and A time.
What must we do to restore unity to the body? Should we strive to overcome the boundaries of denominations, to create a united "church"? Or should we leave the fight altogether, and seek out Christ as individuals in a corporate body?
I ask this for a few reasons. I do not believe that not fighting this battle at all is right. I don't care for the idea of blithely doing my own thing, and hoping that God will do something. I don't care for the idea of just joining the local "church" and assuming that everything is alright. The rifts that divide denominations are real, and they are deep. We wonder why the world suffers so much... when we are called to provide for those who are suffering. And yet, we allow ourselves to remain disjointed. I honestly don't understand. As an individual I think that I can interact with anyone of any faith, but especially those faiths centered on Christ. When asked what denomination I am, or what I believe, I will simply state "I am a follower of Christ" and leave it at that. My faith, and my heart should be judged by what I do and who I am, not what church I attend. Maybe if we all lived like that, and stopped caring about denomination they would just go away. Afterall, they are contrived, and man-made.
