First off, I'd say until each person reading this Live Journal gets rid of their car, I don't think any of us really has a right to point fingers at the "masses" for not recognizing that we're running out of oil.
The idea of abortion cannot be proven right or wrong; our convictions are equally as strong, and your idea of "reason" is no more or less developed than mine. But to say that our system should be "better than" voting against roe vs. wade is to say that your beliefs are superior to mine. That judgement makes you no better than the people you are condemning for having opinions that are founded on their... what was it? ahh yes, "Christian morals." If my beliefs are based on what I believe God has taught me, and yours are based on what society and your heart have told you, how does that make my conclusion inferior?
We cannot win. We never will win. There is no solution.
This is merely one of many reasons why my faith lies in God and not in humanity. Can you think of a single human creation or invention that has not had negative implications? That hasn't pushed us a little closer to the edge? That hasn't forced us further and further into this ridiculous race of confusion that we're living in now? Man cannot create anything perfect. Even if you run from the United States, you'll just find a different version of imperfection no matter where you go.
I take back what I said before. There is A Solution, but it isn't one that Man has ever or can ever devise. I, however, will no longer be so vain as to pretend I know what it is.
