Bangkok

Sep 29, 2010 10:11

I went to Bangkok last week - alone. I stayed with a friend from Thailand and she brought me around for shopping and food. Which is pretty ironic... because I didn't have much Thai food at all, haha. I was there for 6 days (including day of arriving and departing) and I spent 3 days shopping and the rest just bumming around and eating.

Pictures were taken with the EOS 450D and the IXUS 130. :)

DAY 1:

In the plane, listening to "Love the Way You Lie" on loop. Who doesn't love that song?

Some clichéd out-of-the-plane-window shot

Thai Airways' food. It was considerably good! Looks good too, huh!

On the cab to her house

We had dinz at Crystal Jade and I had the most awesome Peking duck. I loveee Peking duck!

Some awesome snow fish delicacy. I hate fish but this was really sweet and tasty! (Y)

DAY 2:

Doitung Cafe @ Chatuchak Market. Macadamia + Caramel latte or something. I forgot. Such good stuff!

It was raining really heavily, so we skipped Chatuchak for that day, walked around JJ Mall for a little before heading to Coca and then Suan Lum Night Bazaar. :) Love that place.

DAY 3:

We had KFC delivered to the house for lunch before heading to Chatuchak again.

Like Chinatown, this is some Japanese Street in Bangkok where they have rows of Japanese clubs, restaurants and little shops.

I was about to snap a picture of their food (really good) but the waiter caught me and told me no photography was allowed. So this is a secret shot :p Japanese Curry Rice with Pork... and their soup is GOOD. I don't like miso soup because I don't take salty food but this tastes sooo unlike miso soup... or maybe the Singaporean version of it.

We had Thai massage for 2 hours after that. It was a good day spent, having a good meal and Thai massage after walking for hours at Chatuchak. :)

DAY 4:

We had food delivered again. I don't really know what cuisine it was but the prawn rolls (in focus) are so goddamn good! :o

We had some time before heading out for dinner so I decided to do some amateur sketch in the orange journal. Stupid scanner ate the shadow-details and raised the highlights.

And if you're wondering, that's not my handwriting, it's my piano teacher's. I have this knack for forging other people's handwriting and changing it to whoever's/my own anytime I want. And Weng is so envious. HAHA.

Dinner:

Good stuff. Forgot what it is though.

Some scary chopped up Sea Bass. (The fish was nice though!)

Flower crab!

DAY 5:

I wish Singapore had places like that so I can do a mini photoshoot there. Haha

Walking to Platinum Mall from the MRT.

I had cup corn after that! I have been looking forward to eating cup corn in Bangkok again because the last time I tried it when I was with ZF/TLA, it was AWESOME. They mix like loads of butter, sugar and condensed milk which makes it really sweet, unlike Singaporeans who are kinda stingy with their butter and all.

Bangkok's traffic - always this congested.

Dinner at Secret Recipe: lamb stew. Thumbs up. (Y)

My bunny ring I got from Platinum. My aunt nagged and scolded me like shit when she saw it... claiming I was a dangerous woman. Uhuh... Now I have a weapon when someone nags.

DAY 6:

My friend's sister's fluffy bunny! Fur is soft as cotton wool, you can't even feel it. I want a dwarf bunny :(

I took down all her fridge magnets to take a family portrait. HAHA how cute right!

At the airport

Roasted Pork with Jade Noodles. The roasted pork is again, so unlike Singapore. They soak/fry the pork in oil (Singaporeans barbeque I think) and so the skin's really crispy. So so so good.

Plane food, considerably good again! And I love the tiramisu pudding/desert (at the back)!

Felt bored during the 2 odd hours so I decided to draw another picture of me from this photo. Faceless because I suck at drawing faces and I didn't have the time for details for the face. And the scanner ate my shadow-details again. :@

Flying beside the moon

Not a lot of clothes cos' I will get scolded -.-" But proven! I love black/dark-coloured clothes. My aunt still nagged endlessly when I got home anyway.

Sorry for the food spam! I'm not a fan of food and I'm not a picky eater (just a healthy one) but Bangkok has really good food that I can't stop saying how awesome (how many times have I used this word in this post?) or tasty it is. I haven't eaten breakfast and this post is making me hungry! I'm going back again next year or making this some annual routine. And hopefully with my bbg. ^^

It's Wednesday. Have a good week ahead! xoxo

P/S: Oh, and round 1 of the Coleslaw shoot went super well! For my friends on FB, behind the scene photos and some other stuff are up if you wanna check it out! Round 2 this weekend, and hopefully the weather turns out great again. Thanks for praying for the weather for me, some of you! :)
