I know I haven't written in a long time. A lot has happened, but for some reason I don't feel like putting it all down. I do want to talk about my friend though. Her dad doesn't let her grow up and makes me so sad to see her sad. She couldn't come over for a movie night b/c her dad decided to leave at 11:30 am and not come home until 9:15 so she couldnt go anywhere b/c he decided to turn his phone off and take her license away b/c she forgot to call him when she got to her grandmas. So I wrote him a letter and I want anyone to read it and give me help on it if you want.
Dear Mr. Minton,
Mandy is a seventeen year old senior, yet you don’t allow her to have a life. She is going to be 18 soon and you won’t be able to tell her what to do. Why not treat her like she is 17 and not 10. She isn’t a horrible person. Mandy knows right from wrong, you just need to trust her. She has one of the biggest hearts I know and she just wants to do anything but disappoint you. You took her license away for two weeks because she forgot to call you. She’s a teenager, we forget sometimes. I’ve made that same mistake, but my parents didn’t take my license away. I learned my lesson when they told me they were disappointed in me and that they were worried something could have happened to me. I understand you might be afraid Mandy might turn out to be bad, but I know Mandy and I know she won’t. You have to let her grow up. If she is always in the house, not allowed to watch television on the weekdays and only allowed to work 1 weekday and then Friday and Saturday she is never going to have any fun. She is going to grow up hating life. You wouldn’t want that for her would you? You can be worried, I’m sure every parent is, but you have to let her have a life. You have to let her experience things. She might make mistakes, but everyone does. It’s natural, no ones perfect. Mandy is far from disrespectful. I have never seen her treat anyone with disrespect ever. I love Mandy to death and I want to see her have fun. I want her to be able to go out and do things with friends without needing to be home in an hour. I don’t want to seem as if I am butting in on your relationship I just want Mandy to have fun. I hope you take some of this into consideration.
Sincerely,
A friend
Oh and I filled out my college applications today, even though I'm a little late on doing that. I feel so good now.
Oh and my basement caught on fire at 2 in the morning Sunday night, well Monday morning. It made my parents talk b/c my dad came straight home from work. They are back together now. I am actually glad my basement caught on fire. lol.
I love Corey.
