Banquets
Thursday and Friday were the chorus and drama banquets. They were both fun ^-^.
Chorus banquet was black/white themed, so I wore my black dress with the white sash in the back. I wore it to Cappies freshman year...I can't believe that it still fit! Anywho, the banquet was much fun ^-^. I got a gag gift XD. Shay was like "well this person has an operatic voice, so we're giving her a mirror for her dressing room." lol? Yeah so they gave me one of those circular makeup mirrors; it said "Ariel's Stardom" on it in syrofoam letters. lmao. I was afraid my mirror would be like Ariel Prins' from drama banquet last year, but it wasn't. Haha, it was kinda cute. I'm going to bring it with me to UCF. Hey, it's useful?
Drama banquet was so amazing! I really felt like a graduate for the first time. I wore my prom dress (just like pretty much everyone else who went to prom at my table + Teresa). We got our Thespian cords! YAYS! Now I have NHS cords AND Thespian cords! Pretty sweet. And Emi and I got a 60 point Honors Thespian award! So we got these cool trippy prism things (that could totally double as lethal weapons- those points are SHARP). So we did our senior skit. It went pretty well I think...Ryan and Josh were hilarious. And Paul came! XD. Next, we did our senior speeches...I didn't really write one. All I did was jot down a few main points beforehand. But I guess it came out ok? I was like the only one who didn't cry. Haha...I dunno...I never expected to cry. I don't think drama could move me to tears. I mean, I'm happy to have been a part of it, and I'm happy to say I'm graduating and moving on to bigger and better things. You know? So after banquet was over I went over to Blank and gave him a hug and told him I was going to UCF. He said something like "I'm waiting to see you on the opera stage" or something?? (??XD??). So I told him i was going to be a Psychology major but was not really sure if that was what I wanted to do, and he gave me good advice. Blank is really sweet. I love Blank! hehe. I am totally coming back to visit. Well, after that whole experience I finally feel like I'm graduating high school.
So now that I've been out of school, I've FINALLY been able to do some reading. I'm currently reading Murakami's The Elephant Vanishes, a collection of short stories. It's pretty good, but nowhere near as good as Norwegian Wood. Then again, It IS a collection of short stories, so I guess you can't really compare them. But yeah. After I'm done with that, I plan to read A Wild Sheep Chase and Dance Dance Dance. I'm eager to get done with this one so I can move onto the novels...I think I'm more of a novel person than a short story person.
Tonight I'm off to UCF for orientation tomorrow. I think I'm driving? Haha. Probably not. I think mom will have a heart attack.
So. College.
Will I like it?
Will I make friends?
Will I have fun?
Will I dye my hair pink?
Will I FINALLY date someone?
Only time will tell.
