The night had gone exceedingly well, as far as I was concerned. Sure, the vampire slayers still lived, and the plot to kill them had been foiled, but minimal damage had been done, and in an election year and an even bigger year for me, personally, I thought that the way the damage had been managed was perfect

The implication that I needed a breath mint made me wonder what my benefactor, who would soon be a giant demon, which I planned on being here for, made me think that he believed that I had been feeding and making waves in his town. The issue of this European super vampire hardly caught my attention for the minute. We could address that a little later.
"I haven't fed, Wilkins, if that's what you are wondering. And if I were to feed, it wouldn't be in Sunnydale, and it wouldn't be public, even though I do like, generally, to make spectacles. No sir, I plan to hold off on feeding until I'm eating either of the slayers..."
I smiled, the very thought making me visualize and construct exactly how I thought that the battles would go. I had seen both of them tonight. I liked the brunette. She seemed like a hellraiser. Killing her might require a little of her feeding upon me as well. The blonde was perky, too, but she seemed stuffy and too serious. She would merely here her neck crack before I plunged into her neck.
"Now, who is the uber-European in town that isn't me?"
Reply
"And nobody implied that you had, Boris. Geez, are all Germans so serious?"
I laughed and stood. The very idea of the slayers becoming memories was tantalizing. "I offer everyone breath mints, Mr. Reminger. It's just courtesy, which I realize might not exist in the world in which you hail, and I do appreciate your desire to keep Sunnydale safe. Killing the slayers might let other vampires run free, though, and we couldn't have that."
He seemed disappointed.
"Now, who is the uber-European in town that isn't me?"
"You, can, however, kill one of the slayers, or both, as long as you don't mind keeping this town safe by exterminating others of your kind. Now, getting to this new arrival in town. There are actually, or at least, were two uber-Europeans as you so eloquently referred to them as. One of them is Angelus, but it appears that he has left. Once he lost his soul, he couldn't take being around the slayer, Buffy Summers. I'm sure that he'll return and probably bring back with him the young beauty that he sired and took for the ride with him. As for the vampire here now, I'm sure that you know him. He's British and very vibrant, goes by the name of Spike, or William the Bloody if you prefer."
His face lit up. I didn't envy Spike right now.

"I couldn't give a piss about how most Germans are. I am serious, which makes it easy for me to get things done, Mayor."

If I wanted to kill the slayers, or turn one of the slayers, then nobody was going to stop me, but it left me confounded. Leashes weren't for me. Within reason, I would play ball for this Mayor that was paying me, but only within reason.

The first part of his statement made me happy. I would keep this town safe until the Mayor's big day, and would kill both of the slayers in the process. As he went on, I felt rage seething. Angelus and Spike. Spike and Angelus. They had spent too much time in their days, with their skinny little trollops, Darla and Drusilla, doing whatever they wanted to, on my turf. I laughed when I had heard that Angel had acquired a soul. Now, it seemed he had lost it again. And Spike, well he was a short, pain in the ass. Killing slayers and Spike and Angelus. Coming here was a brilliant.
"I'll kill both slayers, although I do plan on turning the young brunette and making her my love slave, Mayor, just from one glance. After that, I will become the vampire and demon slayer, if you will, and I'll kill Spike tonight, and Angelus, whenever he returns."

"Splendid, Mr. Reminger. There are few qualities in this world, my mother used to say, more admirable then a good work ethic. I know that my bringing you here was the best decision that I could have made."

"I know that you are formidable, Boris, and certainly commanding, and you have all of my Faith, pardon the pun, with your plan involving the two slayers, and if I might say, an excellent choice. From my one glance at the little brunette, Faith, she seems like quite the little firecracker and therefore, companion for somebody like yourself, however, do you think it wise to take Spike so lightly? He and his little brunette created quite the trouble here last year, and the slayer, Buffy, was unable to kill him. Do you think it wise to go about this non-chalantly? I wouldn't want to lose your services due to carelessness."

I hardly even heard his compliment of me, for he had made the dumbkopf move of questioning whether or not that I could kill little William not thirty seconds later.
"Mayor Wilkins, you've been Mayor of this hellmouth town for a long time, which means that you must have some brains. Observe the facts. I'm six feet, eight inches tall, nearly a foot taller then Spike, which leaves him no chance against me. He may be a warrior. He may have killed slayers in the past and evaded Buffy Summers, but he will not evade me. Secondly, I am a warrior, and believe in war strategy. If I had taken over for Adolf, this country would be speaking German, Mayor. I will not take him lightly when I go in to end his immortality."

I thought, briefly about arguing his semantics about this country speaking German if he had been in control over the Nazi's. I didn't want to anger this formidable employee of mine, and I didn't wnat to talk about the Nazi's. A chaotic bunch of people who earned no respect and would certainly get none from me, even if Boris respected heir ways and strategy's so long ago, when I kept my eyes closely on things from afar, as Mayor here.
"Once again, I say, splendid. Go forward with your plans for Spike and the two slayers. Again, I need not remind you to exercise caution and to make it discreet. Do your worst, make me proud and once again, you have all of my faith."
He stood and while I wasn't short, he was very imposing. I didn't envy Spike or the slayers, now. There was this isuue of this new vampire in town, who might create trouble for Boris, and I felt the need to bring this up.
"One more thing, Boris, before you go. What are you going to do about this vampire that was aiding the slayers earlier while you executed the executioners in the slayerfest program? He could make life difficult for all of us. What do you make of him as a threat, comparatively to Spike?"

I didn't need his blessing, but I appreciated his strategy, like a war would have one, for the big picture. He wanted it quiet, but welcomed the destruction of the precious vampire slayers and seemed to consider Spike a pest, which, let's face it, he was.
I walked to the door after shaking his hand, but stopped as he seemed to have something else bothering him.

I smiled. "He killed some demons and looked formidable in doing so, but like Spike, he has no chance against me. I had already considered him being a menace to my getting to the two slayers. I doubt that he is as formidable as Spike, Mayor."
I smiled again and opened the door. "Now, I have work to do, Mayor. You sleep well, knowing that I'm on these issues. Aufveidezein."
