Safe Arrival

After two days of flying, and an overnight stay in Seoul, we've arrived safely in London. Or more accurately in Silvertown where we are staying. This is part of the redeveloped/ing Docklands area and is across the river from LONCON 3, this years World Science Fiction Convention. When we arrived last night, I was past being bone weary, stripped off and fell on the bed, travel dirt and all. GB had to wake me eat and take my meds. The flight was bad enough as I did not sleep in the second flight being the one in the middle of a bank of three. It was the two hours of the tube, tube and then light rail and then the six flights of steps from the light rail with luggage to the road, and the long walk on uneven (although new) footpaths. This morning, the sky was blue and everything felt much better. I had breakfast and promptly went back to bed again. Finally awake enough to tackle a walk again, GB & I walked to the nearest but stop and caught the bus to ExCel which is the huge function area where the Con is being held and pre-registered. Ate Cornish pasties (mine was lamb and mint); walked the entire length of the facility (kilometres of it), to find the Tescos which was supposedly at the end of the walk. Found it, got meals for tonight, but nothing sensible like tissues or spoons. We had to beg them from the manager here at the Ibis Budget City Airport.
Lots of industrial noise here from buildings, planes, light rail and traffic. Lots of huge black seagulls and cranes as well.
