At first I was afraid...

What can I say? I forgot to cancel auto-payment for my LJ account. This probably isn't a sign that I need to get off my backside and start this thing up again, but I've decided to take it as one anyway - at first it was the apathy stopping me, but over the past while I've been slowly succumbing to the nagging fear I can't write for crap. Actually, right now that's probably a perfectly valid fear, but that's just another one of these things that'll hopefully fix itself with time.

Was planning on updating today no matter what, but then abishag came along with her tempting tag, and it seemed like as good a place to start as any.

The rules are simple. Just create a post about a few things that have made you happy recently. Then tag 8 people and have them post this meme on their journals.

In no particular order, here goes:

1) gab asking me to start writing again. Sometimes a little compliment can go a long way.

2) Afternoons spent avoiding the 'net and watching episode after episode of Foster's Home For Imaginary Friends.

3) Nigel McGuinness winning the Ring of Honor World Championship. Yes, I know pro wrestling is fake, thank you very much. It just so happens that I don't care. He has a lovely soft voice and he works really hard in the ring, and I'm hoping his reign as pretend champion will be a long one.

4) Every Kevin Steen promo I've seen*. Am praying that Ring of Honor will return to Liverpool next year and bring him with them so that I can enjoy some shameless fangirling.**

5) cyberinsekt, who celebrated our fifth wedding anniversary by giving me the most generous and thoughtful gift I've ever received.

6) Kevin Ayers, my current musical addiction. Ostensibly innocent psychedelia that pulls you close and then stabs you from behind unexpectedly.

7) Beads, beads, beads. Making these two pieces:

8) This chocolate cake recipe, courtesy of Delia Smith. Ignore the title - being a sybarite isn't just for Christmas, it's for life.

Tagging anybody who reads this, because I think we all need to spend more time dwelling on the things that make us smile.

**Also a hug.
