i dont know any reggae. i tried to get into soul, northern soul and the like, but it was just too big an undertaking. i did get a bunch of comps, and i like them. but too many times i'll be listening to them at work or something and it just feels cheesy -- but other times i'll be walking around parts of chicago, listening to chicago stuff and it feels perfect. i think my problem is that the soul sections of all the record stores here are so huge and have so much stuff i dont care about -- and would i even know good stuff if i saw it? i mean, i feel confident in the pop-rock section that im not passing over anything real great. eh i dunno. all i really want is the first plimsouls record.
the worst thing is all the time i check gemm.com and find loads of records i want. i spend hours on that website record shopping, but have still never bought anything. isn't buying records off the internet cheating? it sure feels like it is.
