Her sensible heels clicked gently against the cobblestone streets, a gentle swish of the gaucho pants and flowing shirt as she moved. The streets were silent, the world still. A soft smile curved the beautiful woman's strawberry lips, a breeze rustling the heavy curls that fell down her back.
She stood for a moment, before turning to her left, slowly making her way through a long, darkened tunnel. Her fingertips brushed the walls, the grafetti that had been carved there. She could feel the glamour radiating from the walls that had been covered over and over. She smiled as her fingertips traced one message; I love her…and she will always love me. No wonder lovers from around the world came to the spot.
Emerging from the tunnel, she smiled, glancing around her. In front of her, a pristine statue of a beautiful woman. To her left, a high wall of smooth stone. To her right, the house…and above it all, the infamous balcony. She closed her eyes for a moment, drinking in the feel of this place. She grinned back up at the balcony, turning as she heard footsteps behind her.
The beautiful Italian man stepped beside her, and smiled. "It is quite beautiful Ryann…another perfect find."
She turned, flashing him the smile that always got her into trouble, "Of course it is, Antonio. I chose it." She smiled and turned back down the tunnel, allowing her perfect voice to travel, "Jered, Kyle…lets go, we only have a few hours!"
The Italian man watched her, and she could feel the lust in his eyes. She smiled, allowing her calm gray eyes to meet his lustful hazel. The people swarmed around them, and she broke her gaze, ordering her people around with a cool authority.
A voice broke her reverie. A tinkling voice, filled with apprehension, "Ms. Dougherty? May I speak with you…?"
She turned, looking at the woman. A lovely girl, overweight by modern day standards, but with a pleasant face and beautiful curves. She knew that Allessandra was hesitant about the shoot, worried about her body. She was one of the interns at the magazine, and the moment Ryann had seen her, she knew that she needed to shoot her, "Yes? Whats wrong dear? Do you need anything…?"
The girl chewed her lip, uncomfortable. She was already clad in the stunning dress of silk and pearls, her curves and her body accentuated by the perfect dress. "I just…are you sure that you want me, to do your shoot? Are you sure…? I'm…"
Ryann smiled warmly, moving to rest a gentle hand on her shoulder, "Lis…you are stunning. You are exactly what I want…exactly what I need for this piece. I need you…if you don't want to do it…I understand. But you are perfect…"
The girls face broke into a radiant smile, only requiring the reassurance that Ryann offered her, "Oh…no…no, I'll be fine!"
She smiled warmly and patted the girls cheek, "Good…then run along, let Maree finish your hair so we can get started."
Allessandra ran back to the seat waiting for her, and Ryann turned back to look at the balcony. For the briefest moment, she caught a glimpse of one of her camera men watching the model. She saw the desire in his eyes, the worry…the need for the beautiful bride to be. Eyes sparkling, Ryann ignored him, continuing to move her staff.
Finally, it was set. Allessandra was on the balcony, gazing down at the people below her. Ryann smiled, speaking gently, "Lissa…I want you to look out over the wall, over the city, over Verona…you know the story, you are Juliet…" The girl slipped into character beautifully, a soft glowing smile on her face as she waited for her love. As soon as her eyes were diverted, Ryann slipped over to the man, bending to murmur softly to him. He looked at her with wide eyes, fear evident in his actions. She smiled and soothed him, and he ran off, putting his camera in her hands.
She brought the camera to her face and moved back in front of the balcony, speaking softly to Allessandra, directing her to move and flow over the small area above them. Ryann grinned as she watched, seeing the shape of a man behind Lissa. Slowly, he moved behind her, gathering her in his arms.
Ryann caught every moment of it on film. She saw the look in the girls eyes as she found her one true love, and the look in his eyes as he was able to admit his feelings for her. She felt the glamour sweep over her, enveloping her in its warm arms. The pictures were perfect…
Ryann left after the rest of her crew, slowly moving back towards her van. She had not found her own love, but she would do everything in her power to bring love to the people around her...
