Rowena stood in front of her building and looked up with a bright smile on her face. She owed Marie big time...but this was well worth it. The realator watched the young woman with a smile in his eyes, her exuberance bringing a bounce to his weary step. He touched her shoulder, moving to unlock the front door.

Rowena smiled as she walked inside. From the outside, the building looked sad, lonely. The faux cast-iron facade needed to be washed with a power cleaner, the building needed a good paint. The windows needed to be replaced, and the door would need to go. But once inside...

Rowena's smile widened as she stepped through the foyer. The building was perfect...everything about it was exactly what she wanted. The building was open and airy inside, sunlight filtering through the dirty windows from the three floors, and the skylight above. She stepped across the marble flooring, examining it. The realator droned on behind her, 'Finished in 1932, it was used as a popular...' but she ignored him. She could already imagine the people moving in and out of the building...the joy, the love that they would create when they were there. She flashed the realator a soft smile, and moved towards the stairs.

As was, the building had three floors. The first floor had beautiful, perfect marble flooring. This room had the same faux cast-iron adorning the walls, moving up the pillars. The stairs to the second floor were wooden, rickety. The realator hurried on, telling her that they could be replaced within the month...she just ignored him and resumed walking. The second story was the front half of the building, beautifully carved railings along the side. The windows were huge, taller then she, allowing the sunlight to stream in. The third floor took up the back 1/3 of the building, closed off apartments. The apartments had the same large windows, spacious and beautiful. The skylight at the top of the building could be opened as well.

Rowena stood on the third floor and looked down, smiling to herself. The stairs would be replaced with two slender, curving staircases, created in the same metal as the railings. The windows all needed to be replaced, the entire inside of the building needed to be repainted. A fresh, bright white to contrast the stark black of the metal. She ran her fingertips over the orante work that ran up along the pole and smiled as the realator droned on and on about the building. She didn't want to do anything drastic, not without Robyn...she would leave the stairs, but have them clean and prep the place to be painted. Rowena turned to the realator with a bright smile, "I'll take it." He looked at her, a bit surprised, the smile growing on his own face as he rushed her away to sign the paperwork.

She stopped, looking up at the building as he locked the door. The place had already seemed to brighten...just her presence had brought it some joy. She grinned, all of her worries melting away as she turned to return to the office. Saturday...Saturday she would show her darling Eshu their next big project.
