Ireland Trip!

ERICA SEND ME THE LINK TO THE HARRY POTTER ICONS!!!

Now that that's done with...

Wednesday- Seussical
So, Wednesday night, I saw Seussical the Musical, which I liked, but I still think Moby Dick is the best musical we have done. That night, I went and stayed over at my aunt's with Pattie, cause our mom and dad had left that afternoon for Ireland.

Thursday- Planes are cool
On Thursday, we basically lazed about the house for a few hours before getting ready and heading off to the airport. Once we got to the airport, we got to go sit in the nifty British Airways lounge, cause we were flying business class (we were going on points, cause no body can actually afford those seats). The lounge was pretty cool, way quieter than the rest of the airport, and best of all, no whiny kids. YAY! So eventually we got on the plane and got to our nifty seats, some of which actually faced to the back of the plane. Sharon and I were sitting across the aisle from each other, facing the front, and Pattie was sitting next to Sharon, facing the back. She said it was really bizarre when the plane was taking off and landing, lol. We all had our personal tvs *gasp* which was awesome, and we had a choice of like, a bazillion movies, so Pat and I watched the Fantastic Four. FINALLY! It was so awesome, and Johnny is cool :D Yay Human Torch. Hahaha! So then I did some Su Doku, and slept for a bit. Did I mention the food was good too? Too bad I'll prolly never get to fly business again, how sad, it's way better than stinking economy. Bleh. Then we had a stop over in Heathrow, got to stay in another lounge, and got on another plane. Normal economy this time, got to start getting used to it again.

Friday- Travel, Travel, and more Travel!
So we landed in Belfast on Friday, got picked up by my mom and dad, after getting out luggage freakishly quickly, which was also cool. We then drove to our cousin Lynne's house. She has four kids, Gina, Misha, Jack and Harry. Only Misha was home, the rest were at school, and we hung out for a bit before Lynne came home with Jack, then she had to go out and get Gina because she had forgotten about her :O (they had exams, hence why they were all home so early, cause it was only about 1-2ish), and she came back with her boyfriend Ryan, who is kind of a cutie. So we hung out for a bit more, had some lunch, chatted with the cousins, told them all about our crazy Canadian friends (yes, that would be you guys) and Sarah's food fights in the caf with her cuz, and random other things, like drama and dance class and all that fun stuff. Then, my mom and dad went to go pick Heidi, Rob, and Amanda up from the airport (my cousins who live in Aurora). Then we all got back in the cars, and drove down to a place called Newry, about and hour and half from where we had been. Then we got settled in the hotel, and got changed and freshened up, and then met everyone in the bar before heading up to the restaurant to have a little dinner party for my grandpa, as it was his birthday. Oh yes, there were more of us in the hotel, my grannie and grandpa, my aunt lisa, my cousin Neil, his girlfriend Christine and his daughter Briony, my cousin Nigel (the one who was getting married), Pat and Harold, Sylvia and Ron, and Margie and Skip. Plus a few of Nigel's friends joined us, since they were staying in the hotel too. Now that's a lot of people.
We had to sit at two different tables, so I sat with Pattie, Briony and Amanda (both 10) and my mom, who got relegated to the kids table since there weren't enough seats at the old people's table, lol. So Briony and Amanda started picking on me, cause the food wasn't coming and they were bored, and I'm sad to say I got beaten up by two little ten year olds (they pinched me and pulled my hair, but luckily didn't leave any marks, and oh yes, they pinched my cheeks too.) I got wine at dinner, which was nice, and after dinner Pattie went back to the room while Amanda Briony and I decided to explore. We found the pool, and decided to go the next morning, and then headed back to our room. At about 10 o'clock, we decided that if the girls wanted to go swimming at 8, Pat and I would have to go to bed so we could function properly. So we sent them back up to find their parents, who were in the bar with everyone else.

Saturday- Wedding Day!
The next morning, I was up at 7:30 and waiting for the girls to come meet me at my room, but by 8:20 they still hadn't come, so I made Pattie get up and come have breakfast with me. By the time anyone else came up for breakfast (and as I mentioned, there were a lot of us) it was after nine. Remember I said they were in the bar the night before? Yeah. Didn't even see my aunts until about 2, which was when we were leaving, but don’t worry, they were ready by then. But, back to my story. Anyways, turns out the girls thought I was coming to get them from their room, and I thought they were coming to my room. So, went for breakfast, went for a swim with Amanda, had lunch with her and her parents, Heidi and Rob, and then went and got ready for the wedding. We left about 2, got there about 2:30, the wedding started just after 3. It was a nice ceremony, but it was a very Catholic ceremony and my family a) doesn’t go to church, so I was kind of bored and b) we’re Protestant anyways. Which I actually just found out cause as I’ve said, my family is not religious. It was a nice ceremony though, and they had a live choir too, which was pretty cool. It was about an hour, hour and a half-ish, and then we headed over to the place where the ceremony was going to be held… A CASTLE!

I kid you not. A really castle, with flagstone floors and fireplaces and dead animals hanging on the wall (yeah that was kind of weird) and old books, from like the 1800’s… with a CD player on the same shelf, lol. Luckily, it did have some technological advances, such as, you know, indoor plumbing (and a bit of central heating, but mostly just in the basement because there were fireplaces everywhere else.

We had a choice of like, three different things for the entrée and dinner and desert, which was delicious. I had two glasses of champagne before dinner, and I’m not normally a fan of champagne, but it was really good. Then at dinner I had … something for an entrée I forget what, roast beef for dinner, and Malteaser cheesecake for desert, plus a glass of white wine. Pattie and I were sitting at a table where we didn’t really know anyone else (other than each other) as it was three couple and two guys. One of them, Finbar, was actually pretty cute, but he was like 23 or 24 -ish. We had some random conversations, and actually ended up talking about Harry Potter somehow, and then movies such as Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, and The Wizard of Oz.

After dinner we all migrated to the basement, where a little dance floor had been set up and there was a live band. On our way down the stairs, we were all handed Cosmos, which were really yummy (it was made with cranberry juice but I have no idea what else). Amanda, Pattie, Briony and I danced to almost every song, especially when the band started playing, and at one point it was only me and Amanda dancing, because adults are lame and don’t dance. Our parents made us leave about 11, I guess so we wouldn’t see all the drunk people later, and we did need to leave at a decent hour the next day, but I think it would have been funny to see all the drunk people (not to mention it probably would keep all four of us from drinking that much, but whatever). Actually, on the way out, some woman tripped over the couch and ending up falling on it (after she stepped on my toe. Thanks a lot).

So then we got back to the hotel and actually ended up in the bar for a while (don’t worry, us kids were just drinking juice or water… no wait… Pattie had a Fuzzy Navel. She let me have some, it was pretty good). We went to bed about midnight.

Sunday- Belfast
The next morning when we woke up, after breakfast, Amanda, Briony and I went swimming again. Then we packed and left to go back to Belfast, to see our cousins.

We had a huge dinner party at their house, everyone was there. Here’s a list :)
Amanda, Heidi, Rob, Mom, Dad, Pattie, Me, Lisa, Sharon, Lynne, Paul, Gina, Misha, Jack, Harry, Andrew, Rachel, Victoria, Alayne, Helen, David, Johnny, Nikki, Margaret, Norman, Emma-Louise, and Ryan, Gina’s boyfriend.

Dinner was awesome, and we had so many people there we ended up sitting on the floor and whatnot to eat. It was nice to see the cousins again, but it was a little weird to be around them because we only see them once every couple of years, so even though we have a lot to talk about, they wouldn’t know anyone we were talking about. Also, Pattie and I get along better with Gina and Misha then anyone else, because we spent so much time with them when we were younger and often stayed over at their house when we were in Ireland. At the end of the night, my mom made us take group photos (but of course) and after most of the cousins had left and it was just our family and the Moores (Gina and Misha’s family) plus the aunties, who were staying with them, and Ryan, we all sat in the living room talking (and drinking). We found out that Ryan actually has family in Canada, and in fact they live in MOUNT ALBERT! Talk about a small world. We had to leave shortly after that, sadly.

Monday- More Travel.
We stayed the night with Norman and Margaret, and ended up leaving about 8 the next morning, picked up Sharon from the cousins’ house, and drove to the airport. Yay travel.

One the plane ride home, we got to sit in business class again, that was pretty cool. I ended up watching Sky High, which is a cute movie. And it has a cute guy in it, yay.

We ended up getting home about 6 pm (Toronto time) and of course we were back to school on Tuesday.

And that was my trip. If you want more details, ask me cause I can’t type anymore. My fingers hurt.
