Continued from
Kota Kinabalu Traveloge 1.
Apologies!
I know this entry is continued from a wayyyyyy backdated entry,
Anyway I know quite a few asked about the continuation of Kota Kinabalu (KK) and I finally found time to get ready all the peekas!
Went to help out with a company's event today, and it was a cool experience. The day was at four seasons and the night was at one rochester, both super lovely places and girlfriends, lets go chilling at rochester one day!! You guys will love it.
Gonna keep this entry short and sweet as I need to get more sleep tonight. So enjoy the peeks!
At KK airport heading to our hotel.
Along the way..
I stopped at the part where by we hopped into the cab and headed to the hotel.
And here it is!!! Our hotel for the trip- Le Meridian.
The lobby.
Apparently we googled the best hotels in KK, and the first is shangri-la (Which looks ultra resortish, but its very far from the city), so we chose the 2nd best, which is of course Le Meridian, and its extremely convenient, right smack in the middle of everywhere.
The hotel definitely lives up to its name, and even the restaurant in their hotel is well-known. Weeeee.
Right outside our door.
Leney and I booked a SEA-VIEW room and we were exhilarated upon hearing the sea-vew!
Showing you our sea-view room....
Its an absolutely great and decent view!!! but I was hoping for a balcony, muhahahaha.
This is the whole view right in front of us.
Look at the little colourful huts, read on to know what they are!!
Here's our huge rooooommmmm! Love it, and its super cosy!!
Free internet access ALL-DAY!!!
Excited!!!!
Oh yes, Geng hao came with us too but a day earlier, and he had a huge room all to himself upstairs.
We were "blondies" back then too.
My fake blond hair. Bright hair or dark hair? hmmm
The couch is super comfy..
Being curious cats, we checked out the little colour huts just opposite our hotel. To our amazement, they are little tentages, just like pasa malam, just that its with a massive whole lot of food stalls! There can easily be about 200 or more mini stalls selling authentic malay food at super cheap prices (yet awfully DELICIOUS!) or even market for groceries etc. LOVE IT!
The "mini" stalls!
We bumped into lovely kids whom i know they are gonna be great friends who share an amazing friendships together for life. :)
And authentic mee goreng!
Huge plate that is only near to SGD $2 each for both! Definitely going back to this market if i ever visit KK again.
And this stall is a MUST-VISIT! The chicken is absolutely tender and marinated in the best bbq taste.
Its as good as my favourite tori-q, drools..
More pictures of the stalls.
We got tempted by the grilled seafood (Which cost more expensive) by the road stalls, and we ordered this HUGE prawn. But I think its not exactly nice and the flesh is kinda hard. :(
The view while you enjoy the food.
Market side! Raw meat.
The only bad thing was that you will smell and the weather was friggin warm! We were perspiring like crazy and the food made the time there worth while. We stayed till late, and woohoo! You can actually enjoy a great view of the sunset, and look at this amazingly beautiful sky...
nice.
And so, the next thing you have to do on a holiday is to make a trip down to the grocery to stock up tidbits and drinks...
We cleared nearly the whole shelf of sparking ribena (our favourite drink) and we can seldom find it in Singapore anymore.
And even if we do, sadly its gonna be expensive here.
With our hotel so conveniently located in the central district, we had almost more than 4 shopping malls around.
Fish and co in KK.
So we headed to any one of it to do some shopping and hehehe,
crepes are also another must get whenever its Bangkok or Malaysia, they are always cheap and good!
Fav banana choco.
We decided to unload our barangs barangs back at the hotel before moving on to the next plan and guess what?!
The night view of those lil huts is looking completely pretty.....
Another must try activity overseas is to visit their night spots!! :p
Its so funny that we instructed each other to bring a set of "dressy" outfit in due to visit KK's night spot, and Geng Hao recommended the grand hyatt pub.
The funniest thing was that we were totally DRESSED UP, and walking on the streets to hyatt was no joke. We felt like we were aliens from another planet because our dressing was 99% opposite from people along KK streets. It was sooo uncomfortable.
The night life was totally boring in fact. The band was singing some pop music and the atmosphere was very quiet and calm, I just felt that these two are mutually exclusive and both the music and the atmosphere do not compliment each other at all. :(
A few drinks to end the night because the next day is the ultimate fun one. We got to visit the beaches!!!! :D
Shall continue the last part of KK in a bit, stay tuned!
