Live from Word Up 05 - Early Thurs Evening
Just finished with the $100 Haiku Slam, made it to the final round and went toe to toe with the big bad Sekou the Misfit out of Los Angeles. I lost, but it took a tiebreaker to do it. Maybe I'm not as rusty as I thought. In another two hours the first round of the main slam begins. I drew 9th in an order of 30 poets.. Don't really like going that early, but dem's the breaks I suppose.. it just means my score will have to survive the scores of 21 poets after me... I think I can, I think I can.. Fingers crossed.
