When I was a teenager, I checked out the book "How To Make Your Electric Guitar Play Great" by Dan Erlewine from the public library. To non-muso types it appears to be just another bland book on guitars, but to a guitar enthusiast it is a great hands-on guide to "setting up" your instrument (insider term for filing off rough, factory produced edges ( Read more... )

I enjoyed reading the hell out of this post. I'm no musician or good at anything that has to do with music, but I enjoyed this. I can feel the emotion for your guitars. Good jorb

Nice entry!

Maybe it's just 'cause I'm a girl, but I found this to be pretty romantic actually. It was an awesome read. I can't necessarily identify - I'm not from a musical background per se, but one of my dearest (and oldest) friends has played the cello for a number of years and your post echoed a certain familiarity in that respect.

The only musical instruments I've played, is the violin and the cello - the latter being as a result of the friend I mentioned! I still have my own cello, but it never gets used. I played for about four years in total, but these days I don't have the time - which is quite sad really. The cello is such a beautiful instrument - it deserves a lot of time and dedication.
