Music File Organization
I'm trying to find what way to best organize around 7,000 mp3s. I've tried allowing Itunes to, but that program completely infuriates me and I don't particularly find 400 artist folders organized in a way that makes it very accessible. Itunes itself allows me to sort by artist, genre, etc. so why would I also want my music broken down into a million folders as well? With ID3 tags, it should make it easier to break it down into large collections.
I've attempted to use genre from the ID3 tags, but that becomes ridiculous with 2.3 and 2.4 in which people use tags like 'Unclassifiable'. I've got about 8 different genre folders that all say alternative rock, including some that are just spelled incorrectly.
I'm just curious how other people sort theirs, if anyone pays any attention to it or lets a program like Itunes handle it.
