drop a heart, break a name

This week was so. Effing. Long. The first five-day week of the year is always the worst. And today was no picnic in and of itself, either. Let's see...before school I went to Mr. Potts to get my main common app essay back, and lo and behold, it has been finished (according to him)! So that was good. First period we had homeroom for a pointless 30 minutes so that our homeroom sub who was taking Ms. Prieser's place because she's incapable of coming to school on time could hand out booklets on the same giftwrap-selling fundraiser I completely ignore every year and a sheet that told us all how well we were doing at parking at school and to keep up the good work. Oh, and to make sure that we don't park in places that don't have lines, because you know, sometimes just parking in the middle of the parking lot doesn't work out so well.
Then was a French quiz which nobody finished because we only had about 25 minutes to do it in, so Mme. McGraime collected them and told us we could finish them on Monday. Happy happy joy joy. Theeen AP Gov, where Bourque scared the crap out of everyone who'd asked Potts to write a recommendation for them and sort of tried to get us on task by starting a presentation on the first chapter in the textbook, only that didn't work at all.
So after that was Facing History, where we got in an intense class discussion about why we personally do or don't salute the flag. I was accused of being a communist when I said that I don't want to salute the flag when there are so many people in this country who have nothing and who are basically ignored, even though I might have a lot. Basically a day in the life, and now my whole facing history class hates me because I don't have an ounce of conservative sentiment in me, but oh well. That's a day in the life at D-S. From there we went to a calculus test, which I'd really rather not think about. Then another boring English class where Ms. Koppeis (or "Kobie," as John calls her) rambled on about something or other and I tried to fill in my senior superlatives nomination sheet, and then biology, when I was delighted to learn that I don't have to present my project until Tuesday because Mr. Tucker won't be here on Monday.
Then I got home...filled my gas tank all the way for the first time...got french fries at C&L's because I had a craving...and went out to get running shoes with Alex (for Alex, not for me) and to go to the movies. Alex dazzled me with tales of people freaking out over the senior superlatives, of which she had many because she had to collect them all. After getting directed back to Natick from the center of Wellesley by my mom and almost thinking we were lost but then ending up in the right direction after all, we saw "Just Like Heaven," which was a good Friday night movie. One of those movies that you see when you don't have a brain to think with anymore and you kinda just want something to laugh at.
And now I'm home, trying to sort through all my clothes to find some to give away. Oy.
