I was so ashamed of all my recent posts that I up and abandoned my LJ. But I miss LJ dearly, and I'll need it more than ever to keep in touch with college folk from around the country and others. Besides, cleaning out your LJ is very therapeutic, like tossing your dirty, unwanted laundry in the trash! Or if you're really Chinese, tossing out your dirty laundry AFTER you've worn it out as a rag. Not even sure if the tradition is strictly Chinese. I'm sure it's not.
Surprisingly, things are chugging along very well. Friday afternoon was spent with
starzindanite before she flew off to Emerson. Bought her a shoehorn at the 99 cent store in Japantown, but I'm not sure if she likes it. Man, Anna, if you can't appreciate the practical uses of a foot-long shoehorn, at least think about the powerful symbolism! Okay, I'm full of crap.
Labor Day weekend was Queer as Folk weekend! I didn't feel like going outside much because of all the strip mall Labor Day sales. There was the occasional trip to the Apple Store to peruse the PowerBooks, but no purchases so far. Like Crystal said, it's really the best deal for students because of all the rebates, but my parents think the worst of Apple and I can't convince them otherwise. Queer as Folk and various garage sales made my weekend!
My mother bought me a bottle of Herbal Capsules for my allergies because she didn't want me taking any of that Claritin shit. "NUPOWER", it's called, for "Nullergy"! Supposedly, if I take 15 pills a day, and go through 2-3 bottles, I should be rid of my allergies. Al...right..., I'll give it a whirl. They certainly don't have the same appeal as my Safeway brand, cherry flavored, orally disintegrating tablets. Those were candy to me. Sweet, sweet, powdered candy. This Nu stuff is rather sickening (although one can argue what really is more sickening).
Among other things discussed, Helen and I want to break new ground by producing an Environmental Awareness Porno, Something Positive style. It'll probably never be done, like all of our other grand ideas, but it's a floating thought for any of you who'd like to give it a shot!
And for those of you interested, I'll try to fill in the last three weeks in a nutshell.
"NINETEEN-EIGHTY-EIGH-IE-IGHT..., take me back to nineteen-eighty-seveeen..." I miss Ozma!
